You can pledge in different ways. Please do it today. Time is of the essence.
Niamh Uí Bhriain said that it was very important that Fine Gael understood that if they legalised abortion, they would lose the vote of tens of thousands of people who had taken the pro-life pledge.
The pledge is being widely distributed, with volunteers going door-to-door in the coming days, and is available online here: www.pledgeprolife.com
"Please sign and submit your pledge TODAY," said Ms Uí Bhrian. "Time is extremely tight as James Reilly said he would bring forward abortion legislation by the end of January, so we need to get this pledge signed and submitted within days."
The Pledge states that: "If Fine Gael legalises abortion, and breaks the pro-life promise it made in Election 2011, I pledge the party will never get my vote again."
"Legislating for X and including suicide as a grounds for abortion, will allow the direct and intentional killing of unborn children, through all nine months of pregnancy, for the first time in Ireland, and open the door to abortion on demand.
Instead the government must respect the pro-life majority, and protect the lives of both mother and baby."
