Pamela Cook

Australian Pamela Cook wowed X-Factor Audiences with her rendition of Kelly Clarkson's hit "Because of you." 

In the Youtube video here, she explains how the previous year she was diagnosed with breast cancer while she was 16-weeks pregnant. Pamela says: 

The doctors encouraged me to terminate the pregnancy but that wasn't an option for me and they said it would be much easier to treat (the breast cancer) but my partner and I had lost the baby the year before and that just made it not even on the table.

She underwent life-saving chemotherapy and doctors delivered Pamela's son nine weeks early, weighing a tiny 1.5kg on October 8, 2010. In December, the doting mum was able to take Zion home - although her cancer treatment continued through to March.
