"I didn't really want to have the abortion. I have always been against abortion all my life. People think that whenever anyone is raped, they have to have an abortion. My social worker just kept telling me all kinds of things to encourage me to have the abortion. They didn't give me any other option except to abort. They said that if I went on to have the baby I wouldn't have any way of supporting it. The doctor and social worker who led me to have the abortion shouldn't have. I would rather have gone on and had the child anyway on my own account.But they pressured me into the abortion, saying welfare wouldn't pay me for giving birth, but would pay for the abortion since they were saying I was going to die because I was diabetic. They said I was just another minority bringing a child into the world and there were too many already".
