Letter to the Editor
- Letter to the Editor
Send a letter to the editor of your local paper
If you see an article or opinion piece in the media that promotes abortion, distorts the facts or misrepresents the pro-life cause, make it your business to write a letter.
Be clear and concise; short letters are best, back up your assertions. There's a wealth of information on this site and on www.youthdefence.ie so use their search facilities if you need additional information.
Put your name, address and a contact phone number on the end of the letter. They won't print your phone number but they also won't print your letter if you don't give them a phone number with which they can verify your letter if they wish to do so. Although letters are sometimes printed without a phone call, they are very rarely printed unless the phone number is provided.
It's also a good idea to write a letter of support for pro-life organisations if they are reported in a deliberately negative light.
