What's this about?

The presidential election will take place on Friday, 24th October. 55,000 babies have been aborted since 2019. Shouldn't that be an election issue?

Shouldn't 55,000 abortions be an election issue?

The media are doing their best to bury the horrific reality of Ireland's shocking abortion rate - with 55,000 babies aborted since 2019.

In a Presidential debate where rehearsed answers are the most commonly heard, why aren't the candidates being asked about Ireland's spiraling abortion numbers and what it means for Ireland? We are literally aborting our future, yet the establishment wants voters to simply stick their heads in the sand and pretend this mass-ending of human life isn't happening.

We seek to End the Silence. Our newspaper adverts, social media campaign, and street activism will make 55,000 abortions impossible to ignore.

55,000 abortions

There were 6,666 abortions in 2019, the first year it was legalised in Ireland  - then another 6,577 precious lives ended in 2020.  A further 6,700 babies were aborted in 2021. Then a 22% jump was recorded in 2022: a heart-breaking 8,156 babies killed by abortion in that year. And now we know that more than 10,000 abortions took place in 2023 and 2024.

NUMBER OF ABORTIONS PER YEAR

2019: 6,666
2020: 6,577
2021: 6,700
2022: 8,156
2023: 10,033
2024: 10,852

The total to year end 2024 is 48,984 abortions.

In addition, data issued to Carol Nolan TD for Jan/Feb 2025  shows that 1,742 abortions took place in the first two months of this year.

That figure - and the data from 2022- 2024 -  ((1742/2*9) or ((6666+6577+6700+10033+10852+8156)/6)/12*9)) forms the basis for a conservative estimate to end of September of an additional 6,000 abortions for 2025.

That brings us to 55,000 abortions - though the early data for 2024 suggests the number of abortions for 2025 will, in fact, once more exceed 10,000, so this is a conservative estimate.
