WATCH: This boy's wonderful poem to his sister with Down syndrome is the best think you'll see today

A poem written by a young man about his beloved sister Ruth is perhaps the best thing you’ll watch today. This is what love looks like.

Gabriel reads out his paean to a delighted Ruth who looks on, all smiles.

“It might take her a little bit longer – she goes at her own pace

“It might take her a little bit longer, because not everything has to be a race

“It might take a little bit longer to keep her with her friends

“It might her a little bit longer, but she’ll get there in the end.

It takes me a little bit longer, to see the world through her eyes.

But when I finally get there, it should come as no surprise

“The loves, the laughs, the smiles, the truth.

“She is not any burden.

“She is my little sister Ruth.”

To mark World Down Syndrome Day, March 4 Life UK shared Gabriel’s poem for Ruth. His sentiments are echoed across the world by all who know and love people with Down Syndrome.

Ruth sister, Faith, described their sister in an address to the march as ‘pure sunshine’ who made their family and friends more patient and accepting.
