Pro-Life Wins in Florida, Nebraska and South Dakota, but others fail to protect life

Pro-life activists were cheering for Florida and North Dakota after proposals to overthrow pro-life measures in those states were defeated.

In Florida, which currently bans abortion after 6 weeks, voters were asked to amend the state constitution to allow abortion up to 24 weeks, or when the baby was 6 months. The measure did not achieve the required 60 percent approval to pass —

"Amendment 4 has been defeated in Florida! This victory will save tens of thousands of innocent human lives every year. The abortion industry and its allies such as George Soros poured over $100 MILLION into a campaign to enshrine the killing of preborn babies through all nine months of pregnancy into Florida’s constitution, outspending pro-life efforts by a wide margin. But the pro-abortion lobby’s financial onslaught and the intense pro-abortion bias of Florida newsgroups couldn’t defeat the resolve of Floridians to protect preborn children," pro-life leader Lila Rose said.
"Abortion is the worst human rights violation of our time with over 2,800 children killed every single day in our nation alone. Florida, our country's third most populous state, has spoken clearly—it stands for the human right to life. Pro-life voters overcame immense opposition to reject the extreme, anti-life amendment, sending a resounding message to our nation’s leaders: Life is a winning issue when there is strong leadership ready to fight for it. Governor Ron DeSantis and Florida’s First Lady Casey DeSantis have written a new playbook for victory and shown what real leadership to protect human rights looks like."

Live Action invested heavily to ensure Floridians understood the lethal reality of what was at stake. Live Action’s ad showing the brutality of abortion that Amendment 4 would bring to Florida was seen by Floridians over 3.4 million times, delivering the truth about these horrific procedures directly to voters. This was the most important life-related contest in the entire country this year, with thousands of lives on the line. Floridians bravely defied the media narrative and chose to protect life," she added.

Likewise in South Dakota and Nebraska measures to overturn some of the strictest abortion bans in the U.S. also failed

However, voters in Missouri approved a measure to legalize abortion up to 24 weeks of pregnancy, while New York and Maryland passed constitutional amendments affirming abortion, as did Colorado while Nevada took a significant step towards the same, while Arizona and Montana also approved abortion supporting measures.
