A newly released book titled “Abortion is Everything” describes abortion a “superpower” and is aimed at teaching five-year-old children about abortion.

The book has been slammed by a host of commentators who variously describe it as "downright evil", “disgusting” and “propaganda”.

The book - which was written by Amelia Bonow,  who started the social media movement “Shout Your Abortion”, and co-written by Rachel Kessler - is listed as a non-fiction and expected to be released in January 2026.

Shout Your Abortion has promoted the book on social media, calling abortion a “superpower” because we humans have the “capacity to imagine the future and make choices”.

Aimed at five to eight year olds, “Abortion is Everything” is being hailed as a way to "empower parents and kids" and seeks to teach children "about what abortion is, how it might feel, and why people have abortions".

But one US conservative lawyer, Jenna Ellis, spoke out against the book calling it "downright evil"

"Why even introduce such a violent, adult topic to kids who still sleep with stuffed animals and ask for night lights? Because reshaping morality always starts with shaping the minds of the youngest,” she said.

"SYA claims abortion is just one of three 'normal' pregnancy outcomes, like birth and miscarriage. But a miscarriage is a tragedy no mother chooses; abortion is the intentional ending of a child's life."

Others from the pro-life community hit out at the book, including Live Action who said in a post on social media: “The founder of “Shout Your Abortion” is now targeting kids. With a children’s book. Promoting abortion. The book is marketed to children from 5 to 8, with the goal of explaining abortion in kid-friendly language. This isn’t just propaganda. It’s grooming.”

Sarah Gabel Seifert, the CEO and founder of Every Life said in an X post: “Imagine trying to sanitize abortion for 5-year-olds — turning it into a bright, cheerful picture book called “Abortion Is Everything.” But abortion isn’t everything. It ends everything — a heartbeat, a future, a God-ordained life. This is one of the clearest pictures of a culture of death I’ve seen. Parents must speak truth early so children know life is sacred from the moment of conception.”

LifeNews also said: “What kind of disgusting people make a book for kids to tell them that killing babies is okay?”

Another user called out the book saying “Social media posts for the book describe abortion as a "superpower" that gives human beings the unique power to shape their own destinies. What have we become?”

Whereas someone else said: “A new children’s book titled “Abortion is everything” teachers five year olds that abortion is a superpower. Someone wrote it. Someone published it. And some board members approved it as ideal for preschoolers. That’s diabolical. Plain and simple.”

Sandra Parda of the Life Institute commented, saying: “This is horrific and an attempt to poison and exploit the innocent mind of the child with a pro-abortion agenda. This book should never have been considered for publishing.”

“Pro-lifers must step up now to ensure our children are protected from such propaganda and their education is geared towards learning the truth: that life in the womb is precious, innocent and deserving of equal protection to any other human life.”
