A recent poll has discovered that young adults in America are becoming more pro-life after support for abortion has seen a decrease.
According to LifeNews, a recent poll published by Gallup has found a recent increase in Americans having a pro-life sentiment, with young adults identifying at pro-life seeing an increase of 8 percentage points.
The poll also found that the percentage of young adults from the ages 18-29 who believe that “abortion should be legal in all circumstances” saw a decrease from 54% to 44%.
These findings have also been consistent with another poll by the General Social Survey (GSS) who after asking participants on their support for abortion under seven circumstances, also found that the average support for abortion amongst young adults aged 18-34 saw a decrease of 7 percentage points between the years 2022 and 2024.
Both polls however, did identify an increase in support for abortion after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade back in 2022, however, LifeNews state that the recent polls show “that there may be a regression toward the mean. That is a reason for optimism.
Additionally, another poll from Ipsos in the UK also discovered that British men between the ages of 16-34 were less likely to support legal abortion.
Sandra Parda of the Life Institute commented, saying: “It is very positive to see that young people are realising the truth about abortion and turning against it.”
“The pro-life community work tirelessly to build a culture of life across the globe and it always fills one with hope when you see the results of your life saving work, making everything we do so worth it.”
“Person by person, in every thing we do we have the chance to change hearts and minds so that abortion will become unthinkable. Through our important work, we can slowly rebuild a culture that values and respects all life, from womb to tomb.”
