There is a very dangerous narrative that has spread across popular social media platforms that is harming many women and costing unborn babies their lives. When you scroll through TikTok, you can see the amount of regret expressed by women who have aborted their babies—whether in videos themselves or in the comment sections. Some women say the regret of their abortion has stayed with them for over 30 or even 40 years, which is absolutely heartbreaking.
What is even more disturbing is the growing number of videos from so-called “mediums” claiming that when a woman aborts her baby, that soul will simply wait and return during her next pregnancy. This narrative gives women a false sense of comfort, suggesting that if now isn’t the right time or circumstance, their baby will come back later when they are “ready.”
This is a sick and twisted message that completely skews the perspective of a woman who is considering abortion. Many women do not want to face the pain and regret of abortion, something clearly visible in the comment sections of these videos. They comfort one another with the lie that their baby will return someday. Even more frightening, women who are already on the fence about abortion are seemingly being encouraged to kill their own child, deceived by the belief that the baby will come back when circumstances improve.
Let it be clear: we are unique, individual human beings. At the moment of conception, a unique DNA is formed, and that human life—that soul—will not be born again or “wait” until the mother is ready. This is the reality, but women are being lied to and falsely comforted. The narrative being pushed is horribly dishonest and leads to more preborn babies being killed. This is not limited to just one or two videos; there appears to be an endless stream of them circulating on social media, deceiving mothers.
One medium, @spontanousmovemnt, with over 25k followers, was asked if the baby someone aborted would come back, and the user swiftly replied “yes.” Another medium explains that she had an abortion 10 years ago and that the son she has now is the spirit of the same baby. @StephanieMysticalMotherhood, with over 46k followers, claims in another video that “after an abortion the unborn spirt does not die,” and has many videos dedicated to explaining why it is okay to kill your own child because they will come back. Another account @soulcontractspractitioner, with nearly 180k followers, reinforces the idea that the soul of the baby will return later. In the comments, many women state how they “reunited” with their baby after becoming pregnant again, along with messages of gratitude saying they “needed to hear that.”
On another post, one commenter writes: “Currently have my appointment on Thursday and I really don’t want to do this but I had to put myself and my dreams first even tho my bby was always one of my dreams.. Ima miss my baby.” The original poster responds by saying, “if you aren’t ready now then that’s okay! Your baby will come back to you when you are”.
This narrative does not heal women—it deceives them and is very dangerous. Instead of offering truth, accountability, and real support, it replaces reality with comforting lies that minimize the gravity of abortion and the permanent loss of a unique human life. Women deserve honesty, compassion, and real help—not spiritual justifications that lead them further into regret and heartbreak and more lives being lost.
