Karnamaya Mongar 41, an immigrant from Nepal survived war in her native country, but when she arrived in the Unites States in 2009 as a part of Bhutani Refugee Resenttlement Plan, new to the country and struggling financially she believed that abortion was her best option.
Mongar found out that she was pregnant soon after she arrived in the United States. She was turned away from two different clinics because her baby was past the point of legal abortion after 14 weeks. She found an abortionist- Kermit Gosnell who happily agreed to perform the second trimester abortion.
Mongar’s cause of death was her being administered a ‘lethal cocktail’ of painkillers and sedatives by unqualified personnel without Gosnell’s administration. During the abortion Mongar endured severe pain and went into a cardiac arrest. When the ambulance arrived Mongar reportedly, was unattended at an abortion table with no clothing from waste down having a cardiac arrest.
Kermit Gosnell was not only an abortionist who was performing illegal late term abortions but also who deliberately delivered babies alive and single handily snapped the necks of those babies by jamming scissors into their spinal cords, accordingly ending hundreds of innocent lives. He was also convicted of 2nd degree murder of Karnamaya Mongar. Gosnell was put on trial and pleaded guilty avoiding a death sentence and instead was given a life sentence in prison.
Here’s the question that people who advocate for abortion should ask themselves. Why was Gosnell convicted of 1st degree murder by killing babies that were born alive? Why is it okay to kill babies in the womb by tearing them apart out of our sight? What is the difference? Why is one way okay and the other isn’t?
We mourn the death of Karnamaya Mongar and her baby, and all those babies who were treated without dignity. R.I.P
